Q: How long does therapy last?

A: I generally work in a short term model of therapy. We may agree to contract for a certain number of sessions after a first meeting and then reevaluate depending on how we are progressing with the initial goals that we established. Sometimes people decide they have other issues they want to work on or feel that they need more ongoing support which can extend the therapy. The first session will be an hour and after that sessions are usually 45 minutes. We will meet either once or twice a week depending on the circumstance.

Q: Do you take insurance?

A: I am not in network with any insurance at this time but offer an itemized bill for out-of-network reimbursement. I encourage you to contact your insurance company to determine your out-of-network reimbursement.

Q: Will you come to my home or will sessions be in an office?

A: I offer in-home sessions for new parents and in the last trimester of pregnancy. I have office appointments at 26 Court St. in Brooklyn. I have found that working with parents in the home can relieve some of the stress that comes with accessing treatment, especially in those early days of being home with a baby. I also offer virtual sessions if that is preferred.

Q: What if I need medication?

A: I don’t prescribe medication but work closely with psychiatrists who specialize in working with pregnant and breast feeding women.
